Important Qualities of Remarkably Confident People

I am particularly confident or maybe only situationally confident, at times more and still at other times not as much. So much so that you that you spend a lot of time thinking about gaining insights into acquiring more and more confidence and the internal dialogue goes on. Living in today’s world of fake it till you make it, you will find it easy to spot people who are cocky, spotting truly confident people is a lot harder though.

Confidence is Not Bravado

Confidence is not bravado by any stretch of imagination, it is not swagger either or an overt pretense of bravery for that matter. You would be all wrong to call it bold, brash air of some sort of self – belief directed at many others. It is a quiet and natural expression of your expertise, ability and self regard.

Imbibe Great Qualities

During the course of your career you work in a variety of roles and professions, you must have come across a number of confident people and identifying them by the common qualities they share would have encouraged you to imbibe some of those qualities. Let’s have a look at few of them.

Spot Confident People

You can spot confident people when they take a stand, for when they do it is not for the fact that they think they are always right, on the contrary they are never afraid to be wrong though and feel no shame in admitting the fact. Now flip the roles you would find that cocky and conceited people oftentimes take a position and then go on to proclaim or bluster while completely disregarding differing opinions and divergent views, by no stretch of imagination this imposing of your ideas and views is a sign of confidence on the contrary it is the hallmark of bully impersonating as an intellectual.

Quiet And Unassuming

Truly confident people listen more than they speak, they are quiet and unassuming and do not feel the need to brag at all which is a mark of insecurity. These people always try and give other people the freedom to go ahead and introspect and be thoughtful as well. They accomplish this by asking open ended questions.

Never Hog The Limelight

Such people do not have any inclination of hogging the limelight, instead they ensure it shines on others. All the time they shoulder major responsibilities, overcome major obstacles, and have the unique capability of turning a motley collection of disparate individuals into an incredible team which pulls up all the plugs when it comes to performance.

Ask for Help

They never shy from asking for help. They know it very well that it is not construed as a sign of weakness in terms of skill, knowledge and experience, as they are secure in their being. In return for the  help they do not forget to shower compliments, asking for help is a sure sign of reposing your faith in the individual and displaying tremendous respect for his or her expertise or judgement.

Final Words

Confident people do not wait inordinately, they are aware of the universal access and harness social media and the like for building newer networks and relationships, they chart out their own path and follow the appropriate course, thus they are able to move on to better things. They never ever put other people down . Lastly they earn the trust and respect of chosen few people whose opinion truly matters and they seek and value the judgement and inputs of these people only.
